WESTLOCK – Westlock RCMP are asking for the public’s help to identify a handful of people involved in a well-coordinated shoplifting attack on a local business over the Easter long weekend that saw roughly $1K in merchandise pinched.

Acting Westlock RCMP Detachment commander Cpl. Riley Sutherland said that around 5:30 p.m., April 8, three women and one man entered Engel's Your Independent Grocer Westlock and walked out without paying for approximately $1,000 in clothes and groceries. Sutherland said the suspect vehicle the four drove away in was a red Nissan Altima with damage to front the driver’s side bumper.

“We’re looking for any assistance in identifying the vehicle that will hopefully bring us closer to figuring out who the people were,” said Sutherland during an April 13 interview.

“We believe that five people were involved in total, but four went into the store.”

If you have any information on this, or any crime, call the detachment at 780-349-4492 Monday to Friday during office hours, or if you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the “P3 Tips” app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
