WESTLOCK — The Westlock RCMP is seeking the public's assistance in reporting any suspicious activity in and around local fire halls after a successful break-and-enter at a fire hall in Westlock County.

According to two separate releases, the Westlock RCMP received multiple complaints between the hours of 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. on April 21 regarding suspicious vehicles and individuals lurking around two fire halls in Westlock County.

One of these fire halls was broken into and entered by a suspect. Nothing appears to have been stolen.

A picture of a suspect was obtained at one fire hall and a picture of a vehicle, along with a description, was obtained at the other.

The vehicle is being described as a silver 2008 Dodge 1500 with a burnt-out tail light. As well, a Ford pick-up was also seen in the area at the time of these incidents.

Westlock RCMP Const. Jarrett Taylor said the potential theft of equipment from fire halls creates a risk to the public.

"Ahead of this fire season, firefighters need their tools to stop a fire, gain access to structures, and enter vehicles in an emergency to save your loved ones," he said.

In addition to reporting suspicious activity, the Westlock RCMP is requesting the public provide any information they have about the vehicles/individuals involved in these incidents, making special note of any identifying features such as stickers, body damage, burnt-out-lights, etc.

Anyone who has information or footage regarding this incident is asked to please contact the Westlock RCMP at 780-349-4491, or your local police. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the "P3 Tips" app available through the Apple App or Google Play store.
