WESTLOCK — An RCMP recruiter will be in Westlock on Tuesday, March 5 to answer the questions of anyone who is interested in pursuing one of more than 150 different career paths with Canada’s national police force.

As noted in a release, the RCMP recruiter will be at the Westlock Tim Hortons at 11307 100 Street from 10 a.m. to noon.

“Don’t miss this chance to learn more about the RCMP, ask questions and discover the path that’s right for you,” the release states.

Sgt. Jeff Sehn of the Westlock RCMP indicated this will be an informal event and anyone interested in working with the RCMP can just show up to speak with the recruiter.

“They’re doing these events all over the place, and it’s just open. If you have questions, come and chat,” said Sehn.

He noted that over the past year and a half, ‘K’ Division has been taking a more pro-active approach to recruiting people to work with the RCMP, whether it’s a police officer or in lesser-known aspects of the police service, such as intelligence or forensics.
