WESTLOCK - RCMP are looking for suspects after an SUV was stolen locally Tuesday, May 9, and recovered early-morning Thursday, May 11.
Westlock RCMP Detachment acting commander Cpl. Riley Sutherland said they’re now looking to track down video surveillance of the suspects when they ditched the vehicle in the area of 99th Avenue and 107th Street.
“We got a report from employees when they came into work that a vehicle had been abandoned there,” she said.
No charges following lunchtime brawl
RCMP won’t be laying charges following a May 9 lunch-time fist fight at the 102nd Street Husky gas station.
Sutherland said “two people who have issues with each other” happened to meet up at the convenience store and decided “that they would fight each other.”
“Neither party wished to have charges laid and both agreed that they wanted to fight each other,” said Sutherland, who confirmed the two were adults.
Sutherland said that at the end of the day it’s the RCMP who decide whether charges will be laid, but “when there are two non-cooperative subjects, it’s more challenging to proceed.”
