The Westlock Vintage Tractor & Machinery Club is gearing up to host its two-day tractor show at the Westlock Ag Society grounds, right next to the Canadian Tractor Museum, this June 1-2 weekend.

WESTLOCK — Despite the slightly dodgy weather in recent weeks, the Vintage Tractor and Machinery Club will be hosting their 33rd annual show this Saturday and Sunday, June 1-2, at the Westlock Agricultural Society grounds next to the Canadian Tractor Museum.

The feature of this year's show will be international harvestor tractors, machinery and trucks, but any make of tractor and machinery, plus vintage cars and trucks, are welcome to take part in the event.

The show will kick off on both days with a breakfast and viewing of the equipment and vehicles from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

From 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., there will be blind driver competitions, a sawmill demonstration (which is new this year) and a barrel roll. Kids pedal tractor pulls and lawn tractor pulls will start at 11 a.m., while a timed competition of "put the chain in the box" will start at 11:30 a.m.

At noon, there will be a slow tractor competition, followed by a threshing demonstration and a man vs machine contest at 1 p.m.

The parade of tractors, machinery and other vintage vehicles will take place at 1:30 p.m., followed by tractor pulls and field work at 2:30 p.m.

For younger visitors, there will be a barrel train rides and a petting zoo featuring chickens, goat, sheep and pot-bellied pigs.

There will also be concessions inside the Ag Barn throughout the weekend.

Admission to the event is $15 for adults, $5 for children ages six to 12 and free for children five and under. The price of admission includes the breakfast and entrance to the Canadian Tractor Museum.
