Westlock Jamboree donates $1,400 to Food Bank, Barrhead cancer treatment centre

Donations represented a portion of 50/50 sales

The Westlock Jamboree held their monthly jamboree Jan. 21 at the Memorial Hall and donated a portion of their 50/50 draw sales to two local non-profit organizations including $700 to the Westlock and District Food Bank and $700 to the Cancer Treatment Centre at Barrhead Hospital.

The Westlock Jamboree began in 1992 in the original Memorial Hall, but after the hall burnt down two months later, they cancelled it until 1995 when the new Memorial Hall was built and since then it’s been held on the third Sunday of every month from January to November.
