The painting of the Pride crosswalk across 106th Street in Westlock has been postponed to Tuesday, June 27, at 5 p.m.

WESTLOCK – With a high probability of rain in the forecast for Sunday, June 18, Westlock Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) and the R.F. Staples School Thunder Alliance have announced that the painting of the Pride crosswalk across 106th Street has been postponed to Tuesday, June 27, at 5 p.m.

Via its Facebook page, FCSS made the announcement just after noon, June 16, that “as acrylic paint won’t stick to wet pavement” they’ve decided to reschedule the event to the following week.

“We hope to see all of you there as we come together to celebrate this important symbol of inclusivity and acceptance,” read the post in part.

The post goes on to note that they “want to express how grateful we are for the amazing support we have received for our Rainbow crosswalk” and that the “outpouring of love from our community and across the province has truly touched our hearts.”
