Westlock Remembers

A small crowd of about 50 people were at the Westlock Cenotaph Friday afternoon to see about two dozen doves released. Earlier in the day about 1,000 people packed the Westlock & District Community Hall for the official Remembrance Day ceremony. Also on Nov. 11 more than 100 people packed the Clyde Community Hall for the village's Remembrance Day ceremony before moving outdoors to the cenotaph.

Municipal officials, businesses and community organizations are asked to lay wreaths and crosses near the conclusion of the Remembrance Day service; they are later transported to the local cenotaph and cemetery.
