WESTLOCK COUNTY- Firefighters continue to hold the line on two active wildfires in Westlock County, with officials urging residents to remain vigilant as weather conditions worsen.
As of noon on Tuesday, May 7, both wildfires—designated LCU007 and LCU006—remain being held. Crews are on site monitoring for hot spots and continuing suppression efforts.

LCU007 is located between Township Road 630 and Range Roads 261 to 255.

LCU006 lies south of Highway 44 between Range Roads 11 and 13, near Fawcett.
Authorities stress the importance of staying away from active fire zones to ensure fire crews can work safely and efficiently.
“Conditions this afternoon are unfavorable for fire control,” officials said in a county update. “Residents are asked to remain out of the area and to be on standby for potential evacuation.”
The County will provide its next wildfire update at 3 p.m. on May 7, 2025.
Residents are encouraged to follow official sources for real-time updates and to have emergency kits and plans ready should evacuation orders be issued.
