Clem Fagnan has claimed Westlock's Evergreen Catholic seat, dethroning incumbent Caren Mueller.
WESTLOCK – Former Town of Westlock councillor Clem Fagnan has claimed the Evergreen Catholic School Division’s Westlock seat.
Fagnan beat incumbent Caren Mueller and claimed 259 votes compared to Mueller who netted 157 — the unofficial results were received at 1:13 a.m., Oct. 19.
Fresh off a 20-plus-year stint in municipal politics, Fagnan set his sights on Evergreen, calling himself a “family person” with promises to “get in there and help.”
Mueller was first elected as trustee in 1995 and held the position until she was dethroned in 2013 by Bob Oko before she secured another term in 2017 when she was acclaimed.
Fagnan will be sworn in Oct. 25 during the Evergreen Catholic School Division’s organizational meeting.
