Students at Whispering Hills Primary School hit the streets last Thursday in their best turkey costumes to celebrate Thanksgiving. Nicholas Aub é was all smiles on the journey.

At the Oct. 5 meeting of Boyle village council, councillor Sam Assaf made a point to bring up a number of concerns over ongoing issues that he feels may act as a detriment to council and its dealings.

A great Canadian was honoured at local schools last week as Terry Fox Run events were held throughout the community. Local students learned about the heroic young man and his 'Marathon of Hope', and then raised money in support of cancer research. Finally, they got active, hitting the streets, trails and fields to show their support for the cause. Whispering Hills Primary School student Jasper Galloway leads the way during his school's walk around the community.

Leading names from the group dedicated to the environmental protection of the Athabasca watershed were arrested in Ottawa early last week.

Spreading the word that Athabasca University is leading mobile learning in Canada is one of Dr. Rory McGreal’s goals.

The boat launch next to the bandstand was in a state of flux all summer, and Athabasca residents are starting to voice their frustration with the situation. “I am just wondering why it’s taking so long,” said Bob Lasiuk, who is a boat launch user.
