Athabasca celebrates Indigenous Peoples Day

ATHABASCA - Kicking Horse Singers and Drummers took the stage in Athabasca June 21 for National Indigenous Peoples Day.

ATHABASCA - Kicking Horse Singers and Drummers took the stage in Athabasca June 21 for National Indigenous Peoples Day. The group, from Alexander First Nation, was joined by Martina and Kiyanni Aginas from Alexis First Nation to dance and celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day. Around the community schools took part in the celebrations as well, including students at Calling Lake School who took part in an all-day celebration that included drumming, dancing, and outdoor-based learning to recognize the day.
