Athabasca RCMP on lookout for man following possible ‘road rage’ assault

Athabasca RCMP are still looking for a man they say committed an assault Aug. 8, following a 'road rage' incident in downtown Athabasca.

ATHABASCA – Athabasca RCMP are on the lookout for a man they believe is in his late 50s after a traffic incident turned into an assault last month. 

According to a Sept. 5 press release from Athabasca RCMP Const. Kyle Hotchkiss, on Aug. 8 shortly after 7 p.m., the RCMP received a report of a road rage incident having taken place near the intersection of 50th Street and 50th Avenue in Athabasca. 

Upon the initial investigation, RCMP officers determined that one driver exited his vehicle, and assaulted another individual. 

The man is described as roughly 165-170 pounds, between the ages of 55 and 60, with short salt and pepper hair. He was driving a “newer model” red Acura RDX. Police believe that there was a passenger inside the suspect’s vehicle.
