Charlotte and Darren Hill have been operating the Boyle Pizza House since 1999. The mother-and-son duo's focus on customer service and quality food has paid off, with the establishment winning 11 awards in this years Readers Choice Awards.

BOYLE – The Boyle Pizza House might have a new home, but the change in location hasn’t changed the quality of their food, customer service, or love for their community.

For the second year in a row, the family-owned pizzeria took home the Best Pizza with Town & Country This Week's Best Of Awards, but they added ten additional awards to their wall in 2025, including Best Restaurant Customer Service, Best Beer Selection, and Best Patio. The awards are voted on by Town & Country This Week readers.

“It’s a great honour, and I guess it shows that we’re doing something right,” said Darren Hill, who co-owns the restaurant with his mother Charlotte.

“We’re very appreciative to everyone who voted for us.”

The Pizza House has become an institution in Athabasca County, to the point where it gets recommended by many as the best pizza in Athabasca, despite the 30-minute drive, and the Hills have been running the establishment since 1999.

“We won last year’s Reader’s Choice for best pizza but you never know each year. We were just kind of hoping we would make it in again. It’s definitely nice to see,” said Hill.

Besides the four awards mentioned above, the Boyle Pizza House also won: Best Value for Money, Best Wings, Best Salad, Best Sandwich/Sub, Best Family Restaurant, Best Lunch, and Best Wine List.

Hill said they didn’t do anything crazy to get people to vote in the contest, but were blown away by the level of support they received. At the end of the day, he said the most important thing for their business was to support their community and keep a high level of customer service throughout their operation.

“We just want to be friendly with people, and be accommodating – if someone wants a big order and we’re not open at a certain time for it, well we’ll open to make it. We’re very accommodating that way,” said Hill.

“I feel those things all make people want to come back, and appreciate what we do.”
