Athabasca receives development permit for Tim Hortons

Locals may be getting their fill of double-doubles and Timbits as soon as November, after a development permit was filed May 24.

People in the Town of Athabasca may be able to sip their morning double-doubles and nibble on Timbits in town as soon as November.

Canalta, a hospitality company based out of Drumheller, filed a development permit to build a new Tim Horton ’s restaurant on May 24, Town of Athabasca development officer Rachel Ramey confirmed.

The restaurant will be located at the Deerland Landing Park development, near the new Boston Pizza off Highway 55, which is also being built by Canalta.

The application will be presented to the Municipal Planning Commission for approval at its next meeting on June 7. ;

The filed documents indicate the Tim Horton ’s could open as soon as November, Ramey said. ;
