The Village of Boyle is enacting a fire ban as of 2 p.m. as the hot weather continues around the region.

The Village of Boyle is upgrading its existing fire restriction to a fire ban as the northern sections of the province continue to be under a heat advisory.

Due to the dry conditions and increased risk of wildfires, Boyle enacted the ban as of 2 p.m. July 31.

Under the ban, the lighting of outdoor fires is prohibited, including all open fires, fires used for cooking, briquette barbecues, burn barrels and portable wood burning fire pits.

The discharge of fireworks or the use of exploding targets is prohibited, and off-highway vehicles (OHVs) cannot be used on public lands. The OHV restriction does not apply to vehicles operated as part of an emergency response.
