BOYLE — The Boyle Healthcare Centre's emergency department will be without physician coverage for three evenings this weekend, meaning locals in need of emergency care will have to travel to Athabasca, Smoky Lake, or Lac La Biche.

From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, June 27, Saturday, June 28, and Sunday, June 29, any patients presenting to the emergency department will be triaged by nurses on site and referred to alternate emergency departments.

These disruptions may be cancelled if physician coverage is found. For more information and updates on service disruptions, visit AHS's website

Boyle's emergency department remains closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. Patients experiencing a medical emergency should contact 911, and locals with non-emergent concerns are asked to call 811 for 24/7 health-related questions.

Residents of Boyle and the surrounding area with concerns about the disruptions can contact AHS's patient relations team at 1-855-550-2555. AHS asks that all concerns and complaints remain respectful of healthcare staff.
