ATHABASCA — Athabasca RCMP are on the scene of a fatal collision south of Athabasca, near the hamlet of Rochester.
In a Feb. 1 media release, RCMP said collision analysts are on route to the intersection at Highway 2 and Highway 661 to conduct an investigation. Traffic will be closed in both directions to allow emergency personnel to respond.
Media relations officer Const. Kelsey Davidge said the number of vehicles and fatalities are unknown at this time.
RCMP are asking members of the public to avoid the area and seek alternate routes of transit.
