The Athabasca District Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual customer appreciation day July 19.

Many businesses on 49th Street host their respective customer appreciation events in conjunction with the chamber; however, chamber president Penny Semashkewich said the chamber is encouraging businesses on 50th Street to get involved this year, too.

Semashkewich thought as a downtown, the businesses could come together for one big customer appreciation day.

The day will start at 7 a.m. with the chamber’s pancake breakfast at the riverfront.

Between 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., free hotdogs, ice cream, beverages and snacks will be handed out to shoppers on 49th Street.

This is the 11th year for the 49th Street bash.
