ATHABASCA – Edwin Parr Composite’s Sr. High Boys’ Volleyball team is off to the 3A 2023 provincial tournament, after winning gold at the North Central Zones in Barrhead Nov. 17-18.
The student body packed the atrium to wish the boys well Nov. 22, before the student-athletes loaded onto the bus to make the nearly five-hour drive to Strathmore, Alta., this year’s host community.
EPC will play its first game Thursday at 1:15 p.m. against Holy Rosary High School, hailing from Lloydminster. Their second game of the day takes place at 5:00 p.m. against the team from Beaverlodge, a community just west of Grande Prairie. On Friday the boys will take on Peace Wapiti Academy — another school from the Grande Prairie region — at 10:15 a.m. to finish out the round robin. No matter how the first three games go, each school is guaranteed a playoff match, which will kick off at 12:45 p.m. on Friday.
