The Athabasca Landing Trail Pool is circulating a customer satisfaction survey in response to a number of comments made on the ‘Athabasca Alberta: Voice Your Thoughts and Opinions’ Facebook group.
“We decided from what was on the Voice of Athabasca Facebook page, that it was time for our next step of creating a customer satisfaction survey,” recreations manager Rob Balay said. “We want to gain information from the people who are using the pool, and hopefully we’ll only get information from the last six months.”
The survey will be circulated in the coming weeks, and Balay encourages everyone to fill one out. They can be picked up at the pool and the Athabasca Regional Multiplex.
The survey will include 32 questions.
“We want feedback from the users and the community,” he said. “Then we can see what we can do to make improvements, and I am sure there are things that will come forward that will let us take a proactive approach.”
The information from the surveys will be analyzed to see what can be improved at the pool.
“We want a demographic of where they are from, whether it be zero to five kilometres, or 10 plus,” he explained. “ The survey will ask how often a family visits the pool, and if everything is clean and tidy.”
Balay wants users opinions on what they feel can be improved upon.
The pool may one day be located at the Multiplex, but both municipal governments will need to work together for that to happen, according to Balay.
“I think the interest to go down that road is there from both municipalities,” he said.
The costs to maintain a pool are astronomical, and they run a high deficit because of that.
“I don’t know if there is a pool in Alberta that doesn’t lose money. It’s just a matter of how much,” said Balay. “The amount of staff that is required by law (is one reason) and it is an older facility so it does cost a little more in maintenance than a new facility would. Right now that’s what we’ve got, and we try our best to work with that.”
