The Guest of honour at the Boyle RCMP Regimental Ball held last Saturday at the Boyle Community Hall was Alberta RCMP Commanding Officer and RCMP Deputy Commissioner Marianne Ryan. Behind her is a photo of her when she graduated from depot 32 years ago being shown along with the original uniform (back) issued to female officers at the time. With this year being the 40th anniversary of the first female officers being accepted into the RCMP, she spoke what it was like to join the force in those early days as well as about some some of her career achievements and how the force has changed over the last three decades.
