A new executive will take the lead in continuing to work on improving the look of Boyle.

The selection of the executive and directors for the Boyle Community Betterment Committee took place at their annual general meeting on Nov. 6.

Ellen Knowles is the group’s president while Colin Piquette will be the vice-president with Corrine Cordingley taking on the secretary post, Lindy Johnson selected as treasurer and Terry Mudryk-Harbarenko appointed as the vice-president of fundraising for the organization.

“It was also decided that we will be continuing with the beautification project around the village,” Knowles said.

The project will again start on Main street with benches and flower pots as have been done over the past few years and will expand to other sections of the community as more money is brought in.

“The more we get, the more we can do,” she added.

The organization is also continuing its work on the Centennial Walking Trails, the first phase of which was completed this fall.

“At present, we are proceeding through the grant application process for phase two,” stated Knowles.

The hope is those applications will receive approval in time for more work to be done in the spring.

She added the organization is also continuing to look for donations for the project.

Planning is also well under way for the group’s largest fundraiser of the year – the Valentine’s Day Family Dance.

If you want to be involved, the group meets the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the village office.
