A 25-year-old man faces a charge of second-degree murder following the shooting death of his 19-year-old cousin on Jan. 1 north of Rochester.
On Sunday, Jan. 3, the Edmonton Major Crime Unit and the Edmonton Forensic Identification Section, in conjunction with the Athabasca RCMP, charged Parminder Sakhon, 25, with second-degree murder in the death of his cousin, Pardeep Sihu, 19.
RCMP report that at approximately 10:20 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 1, they responded to a report of gunfire five kilometres north of the Hamlet of Rochester.
Upon arrival on scene an adult man was found deceased.
An autopsy was scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at the Office of the Medical Examiner.
Sakhon is scheduled to make his first appearance in Athabasca Provincial Court today, Jan. 5.
