While a lineup of performers for the 2015 version of the Magnificent River Rats Festival has yet to be decided, it’s anticipated music fans will be just as delighted as they were last year.

Although very few people came out, the Magnificent River Rats were able to choose their new board at their Annual General Meeting last Thursday.

Eventually, enough people turned up at Turnabout Place to form a quorum so that the meeting could officially be held – a stark contrast from the last annual meeting.

Ida Edwards was selected as the new chair for the festival.

“I would like to accept. I also would like to say I’ll do it for one year and I want someone else to take over in a year’s time,” said Edwards after she was nominated.

Laura Barfoot will be the secretary and Corrine Schertzer is the new treasurer. The position of vice-president is going to remain vacant

The rest of the meeting involved creating signing authorities and setting the dates for the monthly meetings – the first Thursday of each month, beginning with their first meeting of 2015 on Jan. 8.

It isn’t known when any decisions will be made regarding the schedule or artists that will take part in the 2015 festival, which has already been decided will run two days – June 30 and July 1.

Next up for the board will be a budget meeting that has been set for Nov. 27.
