Semi-tractor crash claims man

A 26-year-old man from Chilliwack, B.C. has died after a collision between two semi-tractors on Highway 63 south of Wandering River Jan. 14. According to an RCMP press release, at about 4:30 p.m.

According to an RCMP press release, at about 4:30 p.m. Boyle RCMP responded to the collision on the northbound section of the highway four kilometres south of Wandering River.

The release states that a semi-tractor was parked along the side of the highway and the driver was out of the vehicle adjusting his load when it was struck by another semi-tractor. Conditions at the time of the collision were clear, according to the release.

“The male driver of the moving semi-tractor suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital by EMS,” the release states. “The 26-year-old male driver from Chilliwack, B.C., was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

The release also states that Boyle RCMP along with an RCMP Collision analyst continue to investigate the collision. It also notes that the parked semi-tractor was hauling a trailer with PVC piping that had to be cleared from the highway.

“Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased at this time and his name will not be released,” the release states.
