Village of Boyle calls June 20 by-election

The Village of Boyle has called a by-election to replace Coun. David Bencharsky, who stepped down last month after nearly six years on council. Bencharsky resigned over health concerns.

The election is scheduled for Monday, June 20 at the new Municipal Centre. Voters will be able to cast their ballots between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Nominations for election candidates are currently open. Every nomination requires a $25 deposit. Nomination packages can be picked up from the Village of Boyle office, located in the basement of the Community Centre.

Packages must be completed and handed in to the village office between 10 a.m. and noon on May 23.

South Baptiste schedules June 18 by-election

The Summer Village of South Baptiste is holding a by-election next month.

The by-election will replace Brad Padlewski, who stepped down after five years in office.

“We wish Brad and his family the very best for the future and we express our sincere thanks for your service to the Community, ” South Baptiste Mayor Steve Hamilton said in the spring newsletter.

Anyone wishing to run should contact Ed Tomaszyk, South Baptiste chief administrative officer before May 21.

Nomination packages must be signed and handed in by Saturday, May 21 at the West Baptiste Fire Hall and Recreation Centre between 10 a.m. and noon. Advanced polls open June 11 for four hours, and election day is June 18 at the West Baptiste Fire Hall.
