The bowlers of Westlock have once again outdone themselves, raising $11,043 that will go towards patient care at the Barrhead Community Cancer Centre.

It has been a long wait, but it looks like two large vacant lots in Barrhead’s north end will finally be filled. Town of Barrhead councillors unanimously approved Land-Use Bylaw 01-2019 meeting in two straight readings following a Feb.

The County of Barrhead is in possession of a designated manufactured home (DMH) in Campsie. The problem is they don’t want to be, but in order to dispose of it, the county decided its best course of action was to buy it outright for $1,500.

As temperatures fell below -30C, a power outage resulted in a loss of heat for hundreds of residents in the County of Barrhead and Lac Ste. Anne County for about four hours on Feb. 2.
