The Barrhead Bombers junior hockey team hosted their season-opener against the AMP Warriors on Oct. 1 at the Barrhead Agrena. Though the Bombers played well and managed to gain a 3-2 lead in the third period, they ran out of steam at the end and their opponents were able to tie up the score with less than two minutes left on the clock. The Warriors then notched the winning goal less than a minute into overtime, winning 4-3. The Bombers’ next home game will take place Oct. 21 versus Vegreville.
