Barrhead High School Theatre lights up the stage

Two fantastic performances were delivered to delighted audiences

Barrhead Composite High School entertained audiences with two different productions on May 23 and May 24.

The first play was entitled The Battle of Image vs. Girl written by Johanna Skoreyko and directed by two students, Kiera Butler and Alyssa Huff. Butler and Huff are the actors in the feature.

The story delivers the struggles of self-judgment, and overcoming those feelings.

The second play, Maul of the Dead, was written by Mitch Brian and depicts a zombie invasion at a mall with survivors trying to stay alive. All roles were doubled, with main characters playing zombies on alternating nights.

The May 23 performance cast, in order of appearance, were:

Raine Jensen as the Usherette; Cyrion Golby as Frank; Luke Lindquist as Lewis; Myra Kile as Charlie; Abby Erickson as Chopper John; Chelsea Code as Wendy; and Peyton Litke as Donna.

Monica Borjas was Cody, the guitar-playing zombie; Angie Kamal Eddine was Chainsaw; and Macey Harding as Throttle completed the main characters.

The convincing zombie cast included Kiera Butler, Maddison Guthier, Miles Gitzel, Zoe McGarva, Elliane Palma, Jaison Peloquin, Ash Smith, Matthew Tonsi, and Haven Vander Hoek.

Additonal zombies were played by Brenna Bourgeois, Matthew Calahasen, Hayley Comeau-Scott, Joy Corbett, Lochlan Kile, Leo Schmaus, Apollo Schradieck, Lilly Anne Slomp and Rijker Van Soeren.

Jade Pena Anderson was assigned to backstage crew, and the cast did their own makeup.

Lighting and sound technicians were Robyn Dean and Kennedie Jackson.

Maul of the Dead was directed by Mr. Bonnema.
