BREAKING NEWS - BARRHEAD -The Barrhead RCMP are seeking the public's help for more information regarding a single-vehicle collision earlier this morning, Nov. 30, at about 9:45 a.m.

According to a Barrhead and Area Regional Crime Coalition (BARCC) alert, the vehicle involved in the collision was stolen in Edmonton, and two male suspects were last seen walking westbound on Highway 651, between Range Road 12 and Range Road 13.

Police described the first suspect as being a male in his 20s of Indigenous origin, with a heavy build and a dark mark on his forehead. He was wearing all-black clothing.

The second suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately six feet to six feet, two inches in height, of slender build with no facial hair and wearing all dark clothing. He was last seen attempting to cover his face with his sweater.

Police caution the public not to approach the suspects as they may be looking to steal another vehicle. They also ask the public to ensure that the vehicles on their properties are locked.

If anyone sees these individuals, they are asked to call the Barrhead RCMP at 780-674-4848 or 780-674-2696.

BARCC is a partnership between Woodlands County, the Town of Barrhead, the County of Barrhead, and the Barrhead RCMP and Rural Crime Watch.
It was formed in the spring of 2018 due to discussions Peace River-Westlock MP Arnold Viersen had with all parties to come up with initiatives to combat rural crime.

Area residents can register to receive alerts free online via the municipalities' websites or in person. People cannot only choose what medium (telephone, text or e-mail) they would like to receive the alerts but also the type. The choices range from crime and RCMP alerts to events and programming information.
