Summerlea residents had a red and white Canada Day celebration decorated to the nines at Thunder Lake near Barrhead

THUNDER LAKE - The community came out and showed their love of Canada in the Thunder Lake Summerlea Canada Day celebration with a parade, fantastic food, and great people.

"This could not have happened without all of the volunteers," said Caroline Johns in her Facebook post.

The Canada Cruzers won first place for best decorated in the parade, with 31 units participating.

There were 125 people in attendance, quite the show of support and celebration.

A total of 16 silent auction items were up for bids.

The 50/50 draw was won by Marg Shepelwik.

The Summerlea President, Joe, was the Parade Marshall.

Herb, the resident barbecue chef cooked 120 amazingly delicious hot dogs!
