BARRHEAD – Part of the walking trail by the water treatment plant has collapsed, the Town of Barrhead said in a statement on June 14.
“During recent culvert repairs in the area, the ground unexpectedly collapsed, creating unsafe conditions,” said the Town of Barrhead media release.
“The affected area has been cordoned off for public safety, and we kindly ask all residents to avoid the site until further notice.”
“Crews will begin repairs as soon as possible, and we will provide updates once the area has been deemed safe for use.”
The cause of the collapse is not known.
There is no defined start date for the repairs to the trailway.
This section of the walking trail that is located near the entrance to the water treatment plant is currently closed to pedestrian traffic.
