The Town of Barrhead hosted the community's Canada Day celebrations, in conjunction with the Barrhead and District Historical Society, on July 1.
Activities included a vendor's market at the curling club, live entertainment on a makeshift stage in the greenspace on the former skate park site, and an Indigenous display featuring demonstrations and games. Next door at the Centennial Museum, its grand reopening for the season featured face painting and demonstrations from the Barrhead Spinners and Weavers Guild. The Barrhead Regional Aquatics Centre and Blue Heron Bowl also hosted toonie events. The municipality also brought in a variety of food trucks, and Pembina West Co-op hosted a beer garden. The day wrapped up with a fireworks display from the Barrhead Regional Fire Services.
