Integ Distributors celebrates a decade of service in Barrhead

Ten years ago, Kevin and Christine Vanderzyl embarked on an entrepreneurial journey that would see them establish Integ Distributors as a trusted name in the Barrhead area. This August, they celebrate a decade of hard work, community support, and unwavering integrity.

BARRHEAD – Integ Distributors is proud to be celebrating their ten-year anniversary with an open house on August 23 hosted by owners Kevin and Christine Vanderzyl.

Their Grand Opening took place on April 13, 2015, starting out with sales and service of Grasshopper lawnmowers, trailer repairs, pressing hydraulic hoses and supplying batteries for a variety of vehicles and machinery.

“We chose this type of business because of my background in parts; I worked in it since my grad 12 graduation and was able to get my parts ticket before I married,” said Kevin Vanderzyl.

“A few years into marriage, I began to hog farm.”

They started out as a husband-and-wife company, with their family helping where they could.

“We attribute our success to a close community who have given us loyal support, and word of mouth has been our best advertising,” said Vanderzyl.

Their first employee was their oldest daughter, Becky, who was instrumental in registering the company as a corporation and advancing their business dealings with their vendors and other businesses.

The Vanderzyls started with their mower’s product line and provided popular parts for sale.

Trailer repair quickly became the focus of their business, gaining in popularity with customers due to the high quality of work and service.

Vanderzyl became a trailer sales dealer and expanded Integ Distributors into a trailer sales dealership, representing several manufacturers.

Over the years, they have added to the lines of products available, making them the go-to dealer in the area.

Today, they have the dealership for Precision deck and dump trailers, Agassiz enclosed trailers, Merritt Aluminum stock trailers, and Mustang steel stock trailers.

Neeralta has always been a good supporter to Integ Distiributors.

When they discontinued providing a few products, they gave the opportunity to the Vanderzyls, and the business expanded to include products such as Powerup, bearings, chains and hydraulic hoses.

“We did have our struggles, one of which was finding competitive pricing so as to be able to compete in the market, especially with our neighbour to the west,” said Vanderzyl.

“We are thankful for the relationship we have with the Neerlandia Coop, where we go back and forth for help when needed.”

Over ten years in business the Vanderzyls have appreciated and are grateful to the staff that have joined the Integ family.

Margaret, Micheline and Tash, who is the rookie secretary, have been instrumental in the success of the business.

Haley has proven her value to the company in her new role in the parts department and shop.

“We consider our greatest asset to be our loyal customer base. Customers that keep coming back for the best service we can provide,” said Vanderzyl.

“Our tag line is ‘Business with Integrity’ and this is not just a tag line - this is our focus.”

“We are grateful to God, our Heavenly Father, who has provided this opportunity for us to serve our community.”
