BARRHEAD - Unfortunately, the Barrhead Bombers were not able to build upon their first win of the season, a 7-2 road victory against the Calgary Amp Warriors on Feb. 2 during a three-game Feb. 10-12 home homestand.

In the first game of the homestand, Barrhead took on Vegreville, losing 12-2 in a game in which Calgary outshot them 92 to 26. In the next two games against the Canadian American Junior Hockey League's (CAJHL) top team, the Hinton Timberwolves, the Bombers lost 9-2 on Feb. 11 and 7-2.

In the Feb. 11 matchup, the Bombers held in tough and were trailing by 4-1, six minutes into the third period, mainly on the strength of the play of starting netminder Jace Bereth, who at that point had faced 61 shots compared to 11 on the opposing goaltender. The Bombers' next home game will be against the Calgary Amp Warriors on Feb. 17, in which players from Barrhead's Fun Team Hockey will be in attendance. Puck drop is at 8:30 p.m.
