Nearly eight weeks after her last run at the PyeongChang Olympics Barrhead residents had the opportunity to welcome home local Melissa Lotholz. Lotholz along with teammate Christine de Bruin, finished seventh in the womens bobsleigh competition.

Town of Barrhead property owners could see an increase in their property tax bill due to an increase in both the residential and non-residential mill rates. On April 10, councillors unanimously approved both the 2018 operating and capital budgets.

Golfers at the Paddle River Golf and Country Club have been assured they will be able to play the sport for the foreseeable future, thanks to a decision by Town of Barrhead councillors.
