A business proposal on Hillcrest Lodge’s long-awaited $11 million expansion was presented last week to Alberta government.

Hillcrest Lodge has proved one again that it really does pay to recycle. After raising $1,600 last year, residents have surpassed this number with a grand total of $2,554 worth of recycled bottled.

It was called “Music for a Winter’s Night.” From the opening notes of the Grade Eight/Nine/Senior Band it was clear this was going to be a heart-warming occasion at the Barrhead Composite High School east gym, banishing the chill outside.

The Barrhead Elementary Gym was bursting with holiday cheer over the weekend, as the Festival of Trees Christmas Market and Craft show finally arrived. Between 600 and 800 people wandered the gym Friday evening and Saturday.

RCMP are continuing their search for a semi-driver involved in a hit and run on Highway 43 near Mayerthorpe. The accident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25, leaving a man with a broken leg, hip and pelvis.
