Westlock’s Chamber of Commerce reboot is a go, with an organizational meeting set for March 6 at the ProperziTims law office at 6 p.m.
Brandi Wolff, who is expecting to secure a position as secretary, said the meeting would be about forming the society and board and mapping out goals for the year, as well as determining the cost and requirements for membership.
“Mostly I expect it will be business owners or people representing a local business,” said Wolff, who owns Royal LePage. “Individuals can be interested but the chamber is a voice for the business owners.
“We’d like to see some advocacy for the business owners with the Town of Westlock. We would like to promote growth and celebrate the businesses that are here.”
She said so far she has heard from 10 to 15 people interested in serving on the board.
While the chamber will be located in the town, it will advocate for the interests of businesses throughout the region, include in the Village of Clyde and throughout Westlock County.
“It’s free to attend. Just come and bring your peers and your ideas,” she said. “We’re just trying to rally the troops and get it moving forward.”
