Mushroom enthusiasts rejoice.

Community mushroom plots are available at Athabasca University this spring, but donít wait too long or they will all be gone.

The mushrooms will be grown in a shed in the community garden.

Starter kits can be purchased for those interested in growing some delicious mushrooms.

Compound and oyster mushroom spores will be provided in the kits, and Dr. Roland True, a member of Alberta Mycrological Society, has offered to act as advisor. He advised this is a good mushroom for beginners to grow.

Martin Brousseau, an advocate of the community garden said the forms to apply for plots are available at the town office.

ìThere will be a mushroom shed, which will mimic the perfect growing conditions for mushrooms,î he said.

The shed will be completed in early May.
