Dominos Pizza is coming to Athabasca, and is scheduled to open in May.
The new business will set up shop in the Duniece Centre on Highway 2 beside Subway, where Five Star Movies was located.
ìWe were looking at a few other communities,î said developer Brice Ferguson. ìAthabasca was very welcoming, and it is an excellent location.î
Ferguson also owns the Dominos Pizza in Slave Lake, and is excited to expand to Athabasca.
ìItís a booming community and it is one of the accesses from Wabasca and Calling Lake into Edmonton,î he said.
ìIt is a natural choice.î
The pizza shop will be one of the first of its kind in Canada, in terms of its design.
ìIt will be incorporating some of the elements of the ëpizza theatreí into the design,î he said, referring to a new design concept Dominoís is incorporating into its American locations. ìItís going to be a bit of a different image, compared to the traditional designs that people are used to seeing.î
