Members of Westlock’s tractor and pioneer museums will be gathering at the Hazel Bluff Hall this month for a joint annual general meeting.
The meeting is a chance for Tractor Museum Foundation and Historical Society member to discuss issues important to both organizations, and is scheduled for March 21 at 6 p.m., said tractor foundation president Rod McFarlane.
McFarlane said another reason for the joint meeting is because it’s generally the same people who are involved in both groups, so it made sense to have both meetings at the same time.
Beyond typical meeting items like electing an executive board and reviewing the past year’s finances, McFarlane said the evening will also include a roast beef dinner and a talk about the fur trade by guest speaker Bill Stewart.
In addition to the dinner, Stewart’s talk and the meeting, both societies will be selling memberships to their organizations. As such, the evening is open to members of the public.
McFarlane said he’s optimistic the meeting will draw close to 120 people.
Tickets are $20 each, and are available from two representatives of each association. The deadline to buy a ticket is March 18, which will give the caterers time to prepare enough food for the expected crowd.
