The Richmond Park Fire Department enjoyed a well-deserved night of recognition for their hard work on Dec. 5.

Awards for five years of service were offered by Athabasca County, while the province of Alberta sent 12-year medals. The Government of Canada recognized those enduring firefighters who have served for 20 and 30 years.

“I think it will be something they’ll remember for the rest of their lives,” said Richmond Park fire chief Terry Krawec.

“It shows they are appreciated for all they’ve been doing over the years. It’s something to be proud of.”
