The Magnificent River Rats Festival Society is gearing up for another Canada Day long weekend music festival.
They held their annual general meeting last Wednesday where incumbent Rod Foster was reelected as president. Festival director Justin McLeod was reelected as well. Cyndie Black was named as treasurer, and Rebecca Osmond took the role of secretary.
There were quite a few returning members, and several new members as well.
“Many hands make light work,” McLeod said, stating they could always use more volunteers.
According to McLeod, many bands have expressed an interest in playing this year’s festival, but so far all that have been procured are local performers.
River Rats will now meet the first Thursday of the month at Turnabout Avenue Place, at 6:30 p.m.
