The Northern Lights Spiritus Singers are sure to spread the warmth of the season at their ‘Sing Glad Tidings’ concerts in Athabasca this weekend.
The annual holiday concert will be performed four times at the Nancy Appleby Theatre; on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
The singers have been rehearsing since September to make sure the show is perfect, according to show director Leah Meyer-Cook.
“It’s a celebration of Christmas, and inspirational pieces to lift the spirit and to take you back with Christmas memories, and give you hope for the season and years to come.”
The singers performed their show in Slave Lake last Saturday, so they should be ready to go come Thursday.
Admission to the concerts is free, and space is always at a premium, according to the director.
“People have to come early to get their seats. We find the theatre is always full,” she said.
Those who have enjoyed the concert in previous years can expect to relive some old favorites while also enjoying some new songs, and Meyer-Cook says she has chosen her very favorite pieces to be performed this year.
“Don’t miss it.”
