Vial For Life

Boyle residents are sure to benefit from the new Vial For Life program that is launching this week.

Boyle residents are sure to benefit from the new Vial For Life program that is launching this week.

The Boyle Healthcare Centre Auxiliary has partnered with Boyle Value Drugs and Associated Ambulance for the program, which encourages local residents to place their medical and emergency information inside of a vial to make it readily available for emergency personnel should they ever need it.

Each vial is labeled with a sticker and comes with a magnet for placement on the fridge.

The vials contain sheets upon which to fill out your emergency information.

The drug store is providing the vials and Associated Ambulance is providing the magnets at no cost.

Should an ambulance ever be called to the residence, staff will check the outside of the fridge for a vial for any pertinent information.

The vials are available at no cost from the Boyle Healthcare Centre, Boyle Value Drugs, Boyle Health Unit, and the Boyle Medical Clinic.

The program officially launched today at the Boyle Seniors Centre meeting.

The auxiliary will be answering questions about the program at local grocery stores in the coming weeks, beginning on Friday.

Itís the first time the program has been brought to the Boyle area.

ìWeíll keep making (vials) as long as people want them,î said the auxiliaryís Donna Larson.
