Sometimes it’s the smell of freshly baked bread that transports a person back in time, or sometimes it’s an old saying you haven’t heard since your childhood, and sometimes it’s a song.

Westlock County protective services manager John Biro received the provincial Fire Services Exemplary Services Medal July 16 in recognition of his work with PTSD among volunteer fire fighters.

“It was an honour and a privilege,” said Westlock County resident Beth Thola, who recently paraded her team of Norwegian Fjord horses at the Calgary Stampede.

Precision Collision Repair and Restoration’s parking lot off Highway 44 was filled with more than 50 custom builds, originals old and new, and even some motorcycles, as the shop hosted its fifth annual Show and Shine July 13.

A recreation master plan commissioned by Westlock County in 2011 will have to wait at least a few more months before council decides what to do with the new-found information.

At the front desk of Eleanor Hall School in Clyde there’s a green traffic sign that reads ‘Ringuette Way.’ That’s to indicate who has been behind that desk for 29 years.

The community came out to show its support for one of Westlock’s jewels, the Canadian Tractor Museum, June 22, and they did it in style.
