Join 4-H. That is the message Bertha Kasbohm, one of the key leaders for the Westlock 4-H District, wants to get out there.

It was golden, but it wasn’t a sunset but lots of sunshine in the smile of first year 4-H member Chloe Hein of Golden Sunset 4-H.

It’s the season where everyone’s looking to get in shape for the summer, and Westlock’s Hope Resource Centre is looking to help people along.

Wacky Saturday will not be taking to Main Street this year after Westlock town council decided to stop funding the festival through Family and Community Support Services (FCSS). Last year Wacky Saturday received $8,000 in funding.

When September rolls around, R.F. Staples Secondary School, Westlock Elementary School and Barrhead Composite High School will all have new principals.

Although he did not return from the Canada-Wide Science Fair in Windsor, Ont. with a medal around his neck, Siddhant Gautam felt the experience was well worth it. Gautam, a Grade 8 student at R.F.

Kennedy Biro is a Skills Alberta Provincial silver medallist. Competing at the Skills Alberta provincial competition May 14-15 at the EXPO Centre in Edmonton, Biro, a Grade 11 student at R.F.

R.F. Staples is an artistic school, complete with a vibrant music scene and talented actors and actresses. But what must not be forgotten are all the students whose artistic talents reside in the visual realm.
