At Christmastime Westlock-area students submit Letters to Santa, which we publish in the paper and online. Here's a sampling of what we received.

Dear Santa,
How is the toy making going? Are your reindeer and your sleigh ready to go deliver presents? I can't wait for Christmas! I am going to make some cookies for you to eat when you arrive at my house. I would love it if you brought me crystals and geodes. I hope you stay warm during this Christmas. I hope to see you and your reindeer on Christmas Eve.

My sister is sick, I hope she gets better. My baby sister loves teddy bears, same with Johannah. I'm Savannah. I hope everyone in my class gets books. I would love more teddy bears and books for Christmas. Have safe travels, is the North Pole cold or warm? Have a Holly Jolly Christmas! Are we able to come to the North Pole this year? I love Christmas!

I hope you are doing good and the reindeer too. I have a few questions: How do you fly all over the world in one night!? Are you able to talk to animals? I ask this because my dog barks at everything but when she barks at night, she wakes me up, but on Christmas she never barks at you. How old are you? I am eight years old. I'm in Grade three. I'm very quiet at school. I would like lots of magnets like the ones with shapes so my brother and I can build with them. I would also like some art stuff. I sure hope you and Mrs. Claus are keeping warm at the North Pole. I hope the elves are doing good! We had a party with Nelson, Macy, Kolten, Owen and also Macy's mom. They invited lots of people and Frances got a spoon and he got girl things. Gustavo got a backpack that was a girl's backpack but no girls wanted it, they didn't like it so he gave it to his mom! I'm in Grade 3. How are the reindeer? Are they warm? I hope you are warm too.

Are any of your caribou females? Did you breed caribou to get your caribou? Did you tame your caribou? Santa, I am a Grade 3 student, always eager to learn. I like drawing and rocks & crystals. Well, I don't just like drawing, I like art. Santa, can I have the stamp and escape T-Rex and some cough medicine? Who won the toy making contest? Sorry for not leaving reindeer feed last year. I believe I have been good. I know I'm asking for a lot.
