Firefighters respond to early-morning mobile home fire

WESTLOCK – There were no injuries following an early-morning Dec. 18 mobile home fire in Westlock.

Town of Westlock chief Stuart Koflick says that at approximately 4:30 a.m. Friday, the Westlock Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 9501 - 104 Ave. Upon arrival crews observed a single-wide mobile home with smoke bellowing from it. They initiated an aggressive interior attack and brought the fire under control within minutes.

The dwelling was not occupied at the time and no injuries were reported.

An engine crew from Westlock County Station 5 (Pickardville) provided assistance, while EMS pitched in with firefighter rehabilitation and medical monitoring. RCMP was also on scene.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, says Koflick.
